CPD/Locality/Networking Events 2019

CPD/Locality/Networking Events 2019

July 23, 2019

The following CPD/ locality/networking events have been arranged for 2019 as detailed below including the dates, the CPD topic and which localities.

Each of the events will commence at 6.45pm with networking opportunities and a light buffet.

During 2018 we held meetings in various localities across Hertfordshire and based upon the feedback we received the CPD element was most important and helped us to plan the dates and topics for the events in 2019.

Tuesday 24 September St Albans & Dacorum CGL/Patient Safety
Wednesday 09 October North Herts, Stevenage & Royston, Welwyn & Hatfield Public Health
Thursday 07 November Upper Lea Valley, Stort Valley, Lower Lea Valley Public Health
Tuesday 12 November Watford & Hertsmere CGL/Patient Safety

Please note that the Patient Safety Matters events, presented by CGL Spectrum will count as your annual training and accreditation CPD. You must participate in order to deliver community pharmacy services commissioned by CGL Spectrum for Needle Exchange and Supervised Consumption. There will be NO other separate training events run by CGL Spectrum other than through the LPC locality events in 2019. In order to continue with this service you MUST attend one of these training events.

Please note that the Public Health events “prevention is better than cure” are CPD portfolio opportunities. These include a focus on making every contact count (MECC). MECC is an approach to behaviour change that utilises the numerous interactions you and your team have in your pharmacy each day.  These interactions can encourage changes in behaviour that have a positive effect on the health and wellbeing of your patients and customers. The training offers a refresher no matter how experienced.

We encourage attendance from all contractors and in addition to the CPD learning, the evening will also give you the opportunity to meet your colleagues, have a networking session and discuss your local area and understand what is taking place across Hertfordshire. As time passes you will all need to have a network of colleagues who you can approach for your peer review. The more events you attend the better relationships you will be able to develop.

If you and your colleagues wish to sign up to attend once of the events, please send your name(s) and pharmacy name to –  info@hertslpc.org.uk

We look forward to seeing many of you and your teams at one of these meetings and whilst we appreciate that these meetings are after a long day at work, attending these events will help you all. Particularly in view of the changes such as PCNs and the New Contract
