An exciting opportunity has arisen with Community Pharmacy Hertfordshire (Hertfordshire Local Pharmaceutical Committee) who is actively seeking a Communications Officer (covering 40 hours a week) at a competitive salary of £20,000 – £28,000. We are open to requests for flexible working as part of the application process and will consider alternative patterns of work, such as job-sharing and part-time work.

The Communications Officer is responsible for the overall communications strategy of the LPC and their focus will be contractor, stakeholder and external organisation liaison. We require a well-motivated, self-starting, enthusiastic individual to take responsibility and accountability for the communication strategy of the LPC that includes social media to lead on engagement with the general public, community pharmacy contractors and stakeholders.

The candidate will take responsibility for:

  • communications between the LPC and community pharmacy teams by way of website, newsletters or other methods including electronic and social media;
  • preparing press releases and being the key point of contact for all media queries and requests;
  • political liaison and promotion of community pharmacy,
  • Pharmaceutical Company liaison;
  • leading and managing the events calendar for the LPC;
  • planning promotional and marketing campaigns including the organisation of the production of posters, brochures and other marketing materials; and
  • attending conferences and meetings as necessary.

The candidate will also support LPC work streams and should be able to use their own initiative and define their own workload.
