Carers Week – will you get involved?

April 25, 2019

Carers Week is a national week to raise awareness of caring and this year marks the 25th anniversary. Carers Week 2019 takes place from 10 – 16 June and the theme is Getting Carers Connected – ensuring carers are connected to services, advice, information and other carers.

Community pharmacies could get involved by holding an activity for carers in your pharmacy or displaying information about the support available for carers.

Countywide charity Carers in Hertfordshire, which identifies carers and provides free advice and services including mentoring, support groups and courses, can provide leaflets about its services or posters for you to display.

You can also get Carers Week materials such as balloons and stickers from Carers UK, the national charity that is responsible for Carers Week. You can access these materials via the Carers Week website at www.carersweek.org and can obtain a free resource pack if you register an event on the website.

If you do plan to hold an activity, please let them know as they can add it to their list of Carers Week events that carers can access. To inform them of your event or to request any leaflets or posters from them, please call on 01992 58 69 69 or email contact@carersinherts.org.uk.
