The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) have announced that alterations will be made next year to the EPS prescriber cancellation and repeat dispensing processes. More information will be shared by PSNC regarding the date of these changes closer to the time.
Prescriber cancellation: From late January 2016 a change to the EPS system will mean that where a GP practice requests EPS cancellation of an item and the pharmacy team marks the item ND, the GP system will be updated to reflect the successful cancellation. Repeat dispensing (RD) logic: This relates to the timing for which subsequent RD batch issues can be downloaded. From February 2016 the timing for when the next batch issue is available to download from the Spine will be linked with the GP practice’s intended date. The current logic, to be replaced, used timing linked with the sending of dispense messages. Find out more about this change at: dld.bz/eeUNR
